Introduction: Thanks to today’s technology patients have more options then ever when it comes to wearing braces. Regular metal braces are still commonly used, but clear braces are becoming progressively more popular along with removable appliances that can be used for select cases of misaligned teeth.
In the photo to the right you can see two of our patients - Tricia is wearing Ceramic braces and Steve is wearing Metal braces.
Let's briefly describe the main three types of braces below...
Metal Braces:
Metal braces are the most common types of braces worn by patients. They are made of high-grade stainless steel. Today’s metal braces are smaller, more comfortable, and more attractive then ever before.

Ceramic Braces:
Ceramic braces are made of translucent, clear material. They are most popular with adult patients because of their cosmetic appeal. Ceramic braces will not stain or discolor your teeth. Many patients like this type of braces because they do not have to worry about having the “tin grin smile”.

Invisalign Braces:
The Invisalign system of braces is a series of clear overlay templates called aligners that have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move the teeth. This system is available to adult patients and sometimes teens with certain orthodontic bite problems.
